THE M FAMILY
I met this sweet family a few months ago when we did their maternity photos at one of my favorite spots, Springbrook Prairie in Naperville. Their daughter was dressed in the cutest blush colored set (obviously I was a big fan) and was a bit shy with me at first, so it was pretty awesome that she began to trust me during her sister's newborn session. Big win for Christina!
If moms are up for it, I always encourage doing a maternity session because 1.) your body is incredible and when will you look this gorgeous and glowing again? and 2.) if you have any other children, it's a great way for them to start building a relationship with me, so when it comes time for the newborn session, I'm a familiar face!
The mom and I had done some outfit planning ahead of time via text (which is always an option for my clients!), and I'm in love with how the colors turned out in the studio. You know me and neutrals: love, love, LOVE.
This session was so much fun. I loved working with this family again and even though we were stretching it with a feeding during the swaddle photos, it was worth it to get all of the sweet little smiles!
During each newborn session, I'll be sure to capture the entire family, each parent with the baby, the parents with the baby, siblings with the baby, and those oh-so-sweet photos of just the little babe! I'm a big sucker for the little details, too so don't be surprised if you see me zooming in on those adorable toes or ask you to hold your baby's tiny hand.
I always save the swaddle photos for the end of the newborn session so the rest of the family can "clock out" while I try to work some magic with the baby. I have a good variety of solid colored swaddles, dainty headbands for the girlies, and several baskets and filler blankets to use during the solo baby photos. I also have several newborn outfits my clients are welcome to use for the baby during the session. My goal is to make everything as easy and stress-free as possible!
